Setting the Home Page

Help your students get started learning with a simple landing page for your course.

Every course will start on a specific page depending on what you select as the "Front Page".  This page will be what students see first when they log in to Canvas and go to your course.

Before you select a page, make sure that in your course settings you have selected "Pages Front Page" as the home page.  Some instructors like to have the Course Modules, Assignments List, or Syllabus as the front page.  You can also make that selection in your course settings.

 

 

To set a certain page as your Home Page or Landing Page for the course use gear icon to the right of the page in the "View All Pages" list.  You'll see in the drop down menu the option to "Use as Front Page".  Selecting this, if you selected front page as your home page choice in the course settings, will make that page the home page for the course.
