Why Morning Meetings are really Social Studies/Civic Meetings The Enduring Understanding for this course is: A part of the social studies curriculum can be thought of as Morning Meetings that can be used as tools for civic understanding, social and emotional learning, social studies instruction, and anti-bullying efforts.	Teaching Historical Reading/Thinking The purpose of this course is to help your students approach informational text with the eye of a historian. This course is broken into four modules: Historical Thinking & Sourcing, Contextualization, Corroboration, and Close Reading & Reflection. Each module will have a combination of discussions and assignments. Plan to spend an average of 4 hours per module.
